Millar Wins Champions!

In the first outdoor evening event under the lightsat Angelstone, Captain Canada Ian Millar claimed the second annual Champions Grand Prix Presented by the Canadian Olympic Champion Eric Lamaze.

The evening theme was dress to impress, as over 3000 fans packed the Angelstone Stadium to take in the action. Dwight Crane, who will be presenting the $100,000 National Grand Prix this week, brought in the lights to create an incredible atmosphere.

Of the 27 first round starters, 5 managed to jump faultlessly over the first round. Ireland’s Andrew Bourns jumped clear on both his mounts, Denise Wilson of the USA stuck to form with Winter, Luibov Kutchatova of Russia was clear aboard Wilford and Ian on Star Power.

Going second to last with no double clear, Millar rode a conservative clear to take the lead with Kutchatova and Wilford holding down the last spot in the jump off. Kutchatova have it a great run, breaking the timers 0.06 seconds off the pace to finish in second, and secure Millars first Champions victory!
